Description

For female sample adults aged 18 years and older who have had a Pap smear/Pap test (PAPEV), PAPLGYRR2 is a recoded variable that reports the number of years since the respondent's most recent Pap smear test in grouped years using 2005 method.

The 2018 Sample Adult survey layout file noted that, "This is a time category recode for the time since the most recent pap test. All available information was used and the recoded variable was pre-filled with the response to the time category question first, if available. These data are provided by the respondent and are not imputed." This variable is coded using the method of the 2005 survey's time category recoding method.

Another variable, PAPLGYRR1 is similar, but recoded using the same method as used in the 2000 time category recoding method.
