Description

For sample adults who had pain some days, most days, or every day in the past three months (PAINFREQ3MO), PAINLIMFAM reports how often the respondent's pain affected their family and significant others.

Comparability

There are no comparability issues.

NCHS issued a revision to this variable for the 2020 sample which removed responses that inadvertently occurred in Quarter 1 (QUARTER). As of April 2025, IPUMS has applied this revision.

Universe

  • 2019-2021; 2023: Sample adults age 18+ who had pain some days, most days, or every day in the past 3 months (PAINFREQ3MO).
