QUARTER reports the quarter (of the year) to which the household was assigned for interview. Each quarter of survey data is a nationally representative subsample.

After the 2019 redesign, there is no longer a sampling weight to produce household population estimates. See the user note on the calculation and use of sampling weights for additional information.

Comparability

This variable is completely comparable prior to 2019.
