Description
For sample persons ages 55 and over who have ever been married and who have any living children, LIVDAUNO reports the person's number of living daughters.
This question asks the person to report the number of daughters, sons, and total children. Field representatives were instructed to compare these numbers against those from the variable LIVKIDNO, which reports the number of children still living, and reconcile any differences; reviewing these variables and their frequencies indicates that only living daughters were included in the data, although the question does not explicitly ask about living daughters.
