Description

For persons with one or more chronic conditions who have mobility limitations due to health issues, LIMOBNO reports the number of time units the current mobility limitation has persisted for. LIMOBNO should be used in conjunction with LIMOBTP, which reports the corresponding time period (i.e., months or years). See LIMOB for information on the amount of mobility limitation.

This variable was introduced in 1972 as part of a series of variables related to the difficulty of doing various activities due to a physical/mental condition, the use of help from others to carry on such activities, and the number of years this difficulty has persisted.
