Description

For sample adults age 18 and older who completed the Quality of Life supplement and were excluded from the Adult Functioning and Disability supplement in 2010, and sample adults age 18 and older who completed the Adult Functioning and Disability supplementin 2011, LADLDIFAMT reports the extent to which she/he is limited in her/his ability to carry out daily activities. Comparability

Changes in survey design (e.g., quarters in which the supplement was collected) may affect raw frequencies, but do not affect comparability of the variable. As always, data users should use the prescribed IPUMS NHIS weights.

Universe

  • 2010: One quarter of sample adults, included in quality of life supplement (and excluded from family disability supplement).
  • 2011: Sample adults 18+ who were selected to receive the family disability questions (FDB).
