Description

For persons aged 14 and older who worked for at least one employer last month, JOBMOFLAG indicates if the person's information on the number of months that they had a job or business (MONTHWRK) was imputed.

JOBMOFLAG is part of the Family Resources supplement that provides information on individuals' health benefits, amount of coverage and income received from employment, welfare benefits, public assistance, and savings. All missing data in this supplement were imputed by NHIS.

Comparability

From 1990 to 1992, this variable included persons who only worked for at least one employer (EMPTYPELM = 1) or those who worked for at least one employer and were also self-employed (EMPTYPELM = 2) during the month prior to the interview. In 1993 onward, this variable was asked of persons who only worked for at least one employer (EMPTYPELM = 1).

Universe

  • 1990-1992: Persons aged 14 and older who worked for at least one employer last month
  • 1993: Persons aged 14 and older in quarters 3 and 4 who only worked for employer and had at least one job last month
  • 1994-1996: Persons aged 14 and older who only worked for employer and had at least one job last month
