Description

For sample children under 6 years old (in 1992-1996) and sample children under 18 years old (1997-2003) who have an immunization record and who have at least one Measles - Mumps - Rubella (MMR) shot on their record, IMRMMRTY1 reports if the first reported MMR shot was for Measles only or if it was a combined immunization shot for Measles, Mumps, and Rubella.

Comparability

Changes in the universe limit the comparability of this variable. As always, users are advised to use the appropriate weight for their analyses.

Universe

  • 1991-1993: Sample persons under age 6, with any information transcribed from a shot record and with at least one measles/MMR shot indicated on record.
  • 1994-1996: Sample persons under age 6, and all children 19 to 35 months old, with any information transcribed from a shot record and with at least one measles/MMR shot indicated on record.
  • 1997: Sample children under 18, and all children 19 to 35 months old in quarters 1 and 2 and 12 to 35 months old in quarters 3 and 4, with available shot record and with at least one measles/MMR shot indicated on record.
  • 1998-2002: Sample children under 18, and all children 12 to 35 months old, with available shot record and with at least one measles/MMR shot indicated on record.
  • 2003: Sample children under 18, with available shot record and with at least one measles/MMR shot indicated on record.
