Description

For sample children under 7 years old who have an immunization record and who have at least three HIB shots on their record, IMRHIBMO3 reports the month when the person received his or her third HIB shot. The HIB shot is for meningitis and is called Haemophilus influenzae type B, HIB vaccine, or H. flu vaccine.

Users should combine IMRHIBMO3 IMRHIBDA3 and IMRHIBY3, which reports the day and year of the person's third HIB shot, in order to get the complete date when the person received his or her third HIB shot.

Comparability

Changes in the universe limit the comparability of this variable. As always, users are advised to use the appropriate weight for their analyses.

Universe

  • 1991-1993: Sample persons under age 6, with any information transcribed from a shot record and at least three HIB shots on record.
  • 1994-1996: Sample pesons under age 6, and all children 19 to 35 months old, with any information transcribed from a shot record and at least three HIB shots on record.
  • 1997: Sample children under age 7, and all children 19 to 35 months old in quarters 1 and 2 and 12 to 35 months old in quarters 3 and 4, with available shot record and at least three HIB shots on record.
  • 1998-2002: Sample children under age 7, and all children 12 to 35 months old, with available shot record and at least three HIB shots on record.
  • 2003: Sample children under age 7, with available shot record and at least three HIB shots on record.
