Description

For sample children under 6 years old (in 1992-1993 and 1994-1996) or under 7 years old (in 1997-2003) with a shot record but not all of their shots are on the record and who have ever received an additional polio vaccine that is not on the record, IMAPOLNO reports the number of additional polio vaccines that the person has ever had.

Users are strongly encouraged to visit the Universe tab for more information on changes in the universe across surveyed years.

Comparability

Changes in the universe limit the comparability of this variable. As always, users are advised to use the appropriate weight for their analyses.

Universe

  • 1991-1993: Sample persons under age 6, with any information transcribed from a shot record, whose record is not complete (or for whom it was unknown if the record is complete), who had received additional polio vaccine(s).
  • 1994-1996: Sample persons under age 6, and all children 19-35 months old, with any information transcribed from a shot record, whose record is not complete (or for whom it was unknown if the record was compete).
  • 1997: Sample children under age 7 and all children 19-35 months old in quarters 1 and 2 and age 12-35 months old in quarters 3 and 4 who have had additional polio shots/vaccines not listed on shot record.
  • 1998-2003: Sample children under age 7 and all children 12-35 months old who have had additional polio shots/vaccines not listed on shot record.
