Description

For sample adults age 18 and over who had a job that exposed them to loud sounds or noise for four or more hours a day, several days a week, HRWKPROT reports how often the person wore ear protection (ear plugs or ear muffs) when exposed to loud noise at work during the last 12 months.
HRWKPROT was included in the sample adult core questionnaire; in 2007, a number of questions about hearing, hearing loss, and hearing aid use were included in the core. Please use the IPUMS NHIS drop down menu and search functions for related variables.
