Description
For all persons with at least one overnight hospital stay in the previous 12 months (HOSPNGHTD = 1), HOSPOWN reports if the person's hospital episodes were in federally owned hospitals, nonfederally owned hospitals, or both.
Comparability
There are no comparability issues with this variable.
Universe
1974: All persons who were in a hospital overnight in the past 12 months.
