Description
For all persons for whom the respondent can name a health maintenance organization (HMO) or prepaid group practice plan (PGPP) and who belong to an HMO or PGPP, HMOPLAN1TP reports the time unit for the length of time he or she has belonged to the first HMO/PGPP plan. HMOPLAN1TP should be combined with HMOPLAN1NO which provides the number of time units.
This variable is part of the NHIS supplement on HMO coverage.
