Description
For all persons for whom the respondent can name a health maintenance organization (HMO) or prepaid group practice plan (PGPP) and who belong to an HMO or PGPP, HMOPLAN1 reports if the person is the policyholder or subscriber for the first listed plan.
This variable is part of the NHIS supplement on HMO coverage.
