Description

For all persons, HISPTYPEFLAG indicates if the respondent provided information about her/his type of Hispanic origin (e.g. Mexican, Cuban, etc.), or if this information was imputed. Imputations are classified according to the raw data from when the respondent was asked about her/his type of Hispanic origin. Beginning in 2017, NHIS has suppressed imputation flag variables indicating whether an ethnicity or race response was imputed; these variables are no longer available on public use files.
