Description

For sample persons aged 18 and older who worked at a civilian job last year and had any hand discomfort last year due to an injury that lasted at least 7 consecutive days or at least 20 nonconsecutive days, HDSAWDOCTN reports length of time (in number of days, weeks, months or years) since the person last saw a medical doctor, chiropractor, physical therapist or other medical person for his/her hand discomfort condition.

Users should combine HDSAWDOCTN with HDSAWDOCTP, which reports the time period for the number in HDSAWDOCTN, in order to get complete information on the length of time since the person last saw a medical person for his/her hand discomfort condition.

This variable was included in the 1988 Occupational Health supplement.
