For respondents with an affirmative response in FLUPNEUEV, as well as for all sample children under age 18, FLUPNEUYR reports whether the person had influenza or pneumonia during the past 12 months. For sample children, the influenza or pneumonia during the past year had to be diagnosed by a doctor or other health professional.
