Description

For all persons in 1997 and all persons in families with persons ages 18 and over for 1998 and forward, FLIADLCT reports the number of adult family members who, because of a physical, mental, or emotional problem, need help from other persons with handling routine needs, such as everyday household chores, doing necessary business, shopping, or getting around for other purposes.

Comparability

Other than the change in universe, this variable is comparable over time.

Universe

  • 1997; 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018: All persons.
  • 1998-2013: All persons in families with persons age 18+.
