For all persons, FAMHOMCA2W indicates if any family member received home care from any health professional in the past 2 weeks. For all years, persons were instructed not to include dental care (as part of home care). Babies born during the week of the interview were not included for 1999 to 2001. For 2000 forward, persons were instructed to exclude care received while a patient in a hospital.

Comparability

There are minor changes in question wording for FAMHOMCA2W. In 1999 and 2000, persons were instructed to exclude children born during interview week; for 2001, the survey instrument excluded babies born during the week of the interview. For 2000 forward, persons were instructed to exclude care received while a patient in a hospital. However, the question refers to health care received at home, so it is not clear that this change greatly affects comparability.
