Description
For all persons who have false teeth (FALSTTH), FALSNEAT indicates whether the person usually wears plates (complete upper and/or lower denture) when not eating.
This variable is part of the Dental Care Supplement and is first available in 1971. For related variables and more information about this supplement, please use the IPUMS NHIS search function and drop-down menus.
Universe
- 1971: Persons with no teeth who have false teeth.
- 1983: Persons age 2+ who had lost all their teeth and had false teeth.
