Description

For sample persons age 20 and older in the second half of 1975 who had participated in other sports in the past 12 months (EXOTHERPAR), EXOTHERTOR indicates whether the person had taken participated in other sports tournaments either as an individual or as a member of a team during the past 12 months.

Other sports was one of 15 sports (including one residual "other" category) that respondents were asked about in the 1975 NHIS. In addition to being asked if they had participated in other sports tournaments, those who indicated that they had played other sports (EXOTHERPAR) were asked whether they had participated in other sports as a member of an organized team in the past 12 months (EXOTHERTEM).

Comparability

There are no comparability problems for EXOTHERTOR.
