Description

For sample adults who had participated in jogging in the past 2 weeks (EXJOG), EXJOGNO reports the number of times the respondent had participated in jogging over those 2 weeks.

After the interviewer determined that a respondent participated in jogging, respondents were asked, "How many times in the past 2 weeks did you go jogging?"

Related Variables 

Respondents were also asked how many minutes on average they had spent jogging each time during the past 2 weeks (EXJOGMIN) and how much their heart rate or breathing had increased while jogging (EXJOGBR).

Comparability

Apart from universe changes, EXJOGNO is fully comparable across all years.

Universe

  • 1985; 1990: Sample persons aged 18-74 who jogged/ran in the past 2 weeks.
  • 1991; 1998: Sample adults age 18+ who jogged/ran in the past 2 weeks.
  • 1995: Half of sample persons age 18+ (excluded from AIDS supplement) who jogged/ran in the past 2 weeks.
