Codes and Frequencies
For sample persons aged 18 years and over who believe that good eating habits reduce the chances of developing major diseases (or whose beliefs on this were unknown) and who think that cancer is or may be related to diet, EHDCANESOP indicates whether the respondent mentioned cancer of the "mouth/throat/esophagus" when asked what types of cancer the respondent thought may be related to the things people eat and drink.
Interviewers were instructed to mark all types of cancer mentioned by the respondent in the corresponding category, but not to probe for the possible kinds of cancer into which responses were categorized. Respondents could list more than one type of cancer.
