Description
For sample adults and children who had seen a general doctor in the past 12 months (SAWGEN), DRALLAGES indicates whether that general doctor treated both children and adults.
SAWGEN identifies sample adults and children who had seen or talked to "a general doctor who treats a variety of illnesses (a doctor in general practice, family medicine, or internal medicine)" during the past 12 months. Those who answered affirmatively were asked "Does that doctor treat children and adults (a doctor in general practice or family medicine)?" (DRALLAGES). For sample children only, for 2001 forward, interviewers asked the additional follow-up question, "Did you see or talk to this general doctor because of an emotional or behavioral problem that [sample child] may have?" (DREMOPROB).
