Description
DISCONP indicates whether the respondent had serious difficulty concentrating, remembering, or making decisions, because of a physical, mental, or emotional condition.
There are six disability questions in the test file that comprised one component of a larger testing effort to develop and adopt a standard set of disability questions to be used with multiple surveys across multiple countries. For more information, please refer to the User Note for disability.
Universe
- 2008: Persons age 5+ in quarter 4 who received the family disability test questions (person administration)
- 2009: Persons age 5+ who received the family disability test questions (person administration).
- 2010: Persons age 5+ who received the Family Disability (FDB) section (and not the quality of life supplement).
- 2011-2017: Persons age 5+ who were randomly selected to receive the disability questions (random number generator=2)
