Description

For all persons ages 18 and older with confirmed diabetes, DIAGUMZSEV reports if the person has ever been told by a doctor that he or she has gum disease.

This variable was included in the 1989 Diabetes supplement. A complementary variable is available for sample adults who do not have confirmed diabetes (GUMDISEV). For related variables, please use the IPUMS NHIS search function and drop-down menus.
