Description

For sample adults who were told they had prediabetes and/or diabetes (DIAPRE, DIABETICEV), DIAGLP indicates whether the respondent reported taking any injectable medications other than insulin to lower their blood sugar or lose weight. If necessary during the interview, enumerators would list respondents several brands of GLP-1 injectables as examples of such injectable medications.

This variable was added as annual core content in the 2024 NHIS Diabetes (DIB) section.
