DEPFREQYR indicates whether sample adults were frequently depressed during the past 12 months.

Further information on depression among adults is available in several other variables. For 2002, DEPRESSYR reports whether sample adults were frequently depressed or anxious during the past 12 months. For 1999, a series of variables address major depression with dysphoric mood and with anhedonia; see DEP2WKEV and DEPLIFUN.

Comparability

DEPFREQYR is only available for 2007.

For 2007 only, DEPRESSNYR reports whether sample children age 4 to 17 had depression during the past 12 months that was diagnosed by a doctor or other health professional.
