Description

For all persons, DENTEXTR reports the number of visits in the past two weeks for a tooth extraction. In quarters 1 and 2 of 1971, DENTEXTR also includes visits for other oral surgery.

This variable was included as part of the Dental Care supplement. Information on visits for extractions is available in 1983 in DENTPULL; DENTSURG reports the number of visits for other oral surgery in 1971 quarters 3-4 and 1983. Comparability

In quarters 1 and 2 of 1971, information on extractions and other oral surgeries are combined and reported in DENTEXTR. In quarters 3 and 4, DENTEXTR reports only on visits for extractions. Information on other oral surgeries in quarters 3 and 4 is collected and reported separately.
