Description
For sample adults and sample children who had at least one COVID-19 vaccination (CVDSHTNUM), CVDSHTTYPE1 reports the brand of their first COVID-19 shot. In 2022, this question was asked of sample adults and sample children 5-17 or sample children 0-4 whom interviews were completed in August-December 2022 (INTERVWMO)
Users should note that category "4 = Novavax shot" was added to the survey in Q4 of 2022, meaning it was not available as a response option prior to October 2022.
This variable is one of several COVID-related immunization questions sponsored by the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases (NCIRD).

Universe
- 2022: Sample adults 18+ and sample children 5-17 or sample children 0-4 whom interviews were completed in August-December 2022 (INTERVWMO) who had at least one COVID-19 vaccination (CVDSHTNUM).
- 2023: Sample adults 18+ and sample children age 0-17 who had at least one COVID-19 vaccination (CVDSHTNUM).
- 2024: Sample children 0-4 who had at least one COVID-19 vaccination (CVDSHTNUM).
