Description
For sample adults age 18 and over, COOKIESMO indicates the frequency of eating cookies, cake, pie, or brownies (including low-fat kinds) in the past month. Sugar-free cookies, cakes, pies or brownies are not included. Other survey years report food frequency in a standardized format, recording the number of times a food was consumed and the corresponding time unit. NHIS food frequencies in 2005 are instead classified into pre-defined frequency categories. Additionally, the classification of sweet, baked goods differs slightly across years (see COOKIESMO, PIEYR, DONUTYR). Researchers interested in more years of data may consider using the aggregated variable SWEETSYR.
