Codes and Frequencies
For sample adults aged 40 and older who have ever had a Cologuard test (COLGEV), COLGLGYRR1 reports the time since the last Cologuard test in grouped year categories.
Please refer to COLGEV for more information on variables covering Cologuard testing.
The 2018 Sample Adult Layout file noted: "This is a time category recode for the time since the most recent blood stool test using a kit at home using the same estimation method used in 2005. All available information was used and the recoded variable was pre-filled with the response to the time category question first, if available. These data are provided by the respondent and are not imputed."
The 2018 Field Representative's Manual noted: "Cologuard is a new type of stool test to check for colon cancer. Unlike other stool tests, Cologuard looks for changes in DNA in addition to checking for blood in your stool. The Cologuard test is shipped to your home in a box that includes a container for your stool sample."
