Description
For sample adults over age 40 who have had a blood stool test in the past 3 years, because of a health problem, BSTYLBLD reports a reason for last blood stool test (unspecified type) was bleeding. Respondents could report more than one reason, including the following other reasons:
- hemorrhoids, BSTYLHEM
- pain, BSTYLPAIN
- constipation, BSTYLCON
- bowel trouble, BSTYLBT
- blood in the stool, BSTYLBS
- ulcers, BSTYLULC
- an unrelated medical problem, BSTYLUNMD
- some other reason, BSTYLOTH
Universe
- 1987: Half of sample persons age 40+ (excluded from CAEP) who have heard of blood stool test and have had a blood stool test in the past 3 years because of a health problem.
- 1992: Half of sample persons age 40+ in quarters 1 and 2 and first 2 weeks of quarter 3 (excluded from CAEP supplement) who have had a blood stool test in the past 3 years because of a specific problem.
