Description

For sample females, BREXSELF reports whether or not the respondent knows how to examine her own breasts for lumps.

Comparability

Changes in the sampling universe (e.g., age) may affect comparability over time. Researchers should use caution when making comparison across years.

Universe

  • 1985; 1990: Female sample persons age 18+.
  • 1987: Half of female sample persons age 18+ (excluded from CAEP supplement).
  • 1992: Half of female sample persons age 30+ in quarters 1 and 2 and in 2 weeks of quarter 3 (excluded from CAEP supplement).
