Description

For a selected group of sample adults age 18 and over, BEERNO indicates how many times in the past day, week, month, or year that the respondent drank beer. For the time period referenced, see BEERTP, for the number of cans, bottles, or glasses of beer drank each time, see BEERNUM, and for the size of each serving, see BEERSIZ.

Comparability

Apart from changes in the sampling design (see Universe tab for details), this variable is comparable over time.

Universe

  • 1987: Half of sample adults age 18+ (excluded from CACT supplement).
  • 1992: Half of sample adults age 18+ in quarters 1 and 2 and in 2 weeks of quarter 3 (excluded from CACT supplement).
