Description
For sample children ages 1-17 who do not have a usual bedtime or for whom their usual bedtime was unknown, BEDTIMLHR reports the hour for the child's latest bedtime on weekdays. Persons were asked to report the latest bed time on weekdays of the child, rounded to the nearest quarter hour. BEDTIMLHR should be used in conjunction with BEDTIMLMIN, which reports the minutes past the hour for the bedtime and BEDTIMLAM, which reports whether the bedtime is a.m. or p.m.
BEDTIMLHR was first introduced as part of a supplement on child health. For related variables, please use the IPUMS NHIS search function and drop-down menus.
