Description
For sample children ages 1-17 who do not have a usual bedtime or for whom their usual bedtime was unknown, BEDTIMLAM reports whether the latest time that the child goes to bed on weekdays is a.m. or p.m. Persons were asked to report the latest bed time on weekdays of the child, rounded to the nearest quarter hour. BEDTIMLAM should be used in conjunction with BEDTIMLHR, which reports the hour for the latest bedtime and BEDTIMLMIN, which reports the minutes past the hour for the latest bedtime.
BEDTIMLAM was first introduced as part of a supplement on child health. For related variables, please use the IPUMS NHIS search function and drop-down menus.
