Description

For female sample adults ages 18 and older who have ever used birth control, including oral contraception (birth control pills), a patch, a ring, injection, IUD (intrauterine device), or an implant, BCNO reports the time period (weeks, months, or years) that the respondent used birth control. Refer to BCNO for the associated number of time units.

BCTP was first introduced in 2005 as part of a supplement on adult cancer. For related variables, please use the IPUMS NHIS search function or drop-down menus.
