Description

For sample persons ages 18 and over who expect to have a blood test for the AIDS virus infection in the next twelve months, ATRNYRFIND reports if the respondent expects to have the blood test because she/he wants to find out if she/he is infected.

Comparability

There are slight changes in the phrasing of this response category over time that are unlikely to affect comparability. Please see the survey text tab for a full list of different response categories and their phrasing over time. Changes in survey design (e.g. quarters or subsamples) affect raw frequencies but do not affect comparability between samples. As always, data users should apply prescribed IPUMS NHIS weights.
