Description

For sample persons ages 18 and over who have never been tested for HIV/AIDS, ATNOJOBLOS reports if one reason the respondent has not been tested is that he or she is afraid of losing his or her job, insurance, housing, friends, or family if people knew he or she was positive for AIDS infection.

Comparability

There are no comparability issues for this variable. Changes in survey design (e.g. quarters or subsamples) affect raw frequencies but do not affect comparability between samples. As always, data users should apply prescribed IPUMS NHIS weights.
