Description

For sample persons ages 18 and over who have had a blood test for the AIDS virus infection and got the results of the blood test, ATLACCUR reports if the respondent believes the results of his or her most recent test were accurate.

Comparability

There are no comparability issues with this variable. Changes in survey design (e.g. quarters in which questions are asked) affect raw frequencies but do not affect comparability between samples. As always, data users should apply prescribed IPUMS NHIS weights.

Universe

  • 1991: Sample persons age 18+ who have ever had blood tested for the AIDS virus infection and got the results of blood test.
  • 1992: Half of sample persons age 18+ who have ever had blood tested for the AIDS virus infection and got the results of blood test.
