Description
For sample adults and sample children who had an asthma attack/episode in the past 12 months (ASTHATAKYR) and who had stayed overnight in the hospital for asthma in past 12 months (ASTHOSPYR), ASTHOSPYRNO reports the number of hospital stays for asthma during the past 12 months.
Other asthma-related questions were periodically included in the survey; see ASTHMAEV for a summary of these variables currently in the IPUMS NHIS.
Universe
- 1999: Sample adults age 18+ and sample children under age 18 who had an asthma attack in the past 12 months and had an overnight hospital stay due to asthma in the past 12 months.
