Description

For sample adults and sample children who still have asthma (ASTHMASTIL) or who had an asthma episode/attack in the past 12 months (ASTHATAKYR), ASTHCHEN indicates whether a doctor or other health professional had ever advised them (or, in the case of sample children, had ever advised an adult family member on their behalf) to change things in their home, school, or work to improve their asthma. Response categories on the survey form included "yes," "no," and "was told no changes needed."

Comparability

There are no comparability issues.

Universe

  • 2002-2003; 2008; 2013; 2018: Sample adults age 18+ and sample children under age 18 who had an asthma attack or episode in the past 12 months or who still have asthma.
