Description
For sample adults and sample children who were ever diagnosed by a health professional as having asthma (ASTHMAEV), ASTHMASTIL reports answers to the question, "Do you/does [sample child] still have asthma?"
The Field Representative's Manual for 2001 forward defined asthma as "a chronic respiratory disorder characterized by labored breathing and wheezing resulting from obstructed and constricted air passages." This definition was not routinely shared with respondents.
Other asthma-related questions were periodically included in the survey; see (ASTHMAEV) for a summary of these questions.
