Description
ALCLASTMO reports the month of the person's last drink. This variable can be paired with ALCLASTYR to complete the month/year date of the person's last drink. In 1983, ALCLASTMO is asked of sample persons ages 18 and older who have had twelve drinks in any year of their life, and in 1988 of sample persons ages 18 and older who have had twelve or more drinks in their entire life and had less than twelve drinks in the past twelve months.

Comparability
ALCLASTMO is not comparable between 1983 and 1988. In 1983, the universe includes all adults who ever drank 12 alcoholic beverages in one year. In 1988, the universe includes only adults who have drank 12 or more alcoholic beverages in their entire lives but have had fewer than 12 drinks in the past 12 months.
