Description

For sample persons aged 18 and older who have heard of the blood test for the AIDS virus infection and have talked with a health professional about having the AIDS blood test, AIDSEDTRANS indicates if, during the person's discussion with the health professional, she/he received information about how to avoid getting or passing the AIDS virus.

Comparability

Changes in survey design (e.g., quarters in which the supplement was collected) may affect raw frequencies, but do not affect comparability of the variable.

Universe

  • 1988: Sample persons age 18+ in quarters 2 through 4 who have heard of blood test for AIDS virus infection and have talked with health professional about having AIDS blood test.
  • 1989: Sample persons age 18+ who have heard of blood test for AIDS virus infection and have talked with health professional about having AIDS blood test.
