For sample persons age 18 and older who have ever personally known anyone with AIDS or the AIDS virus, AIDKNOPWEL reports how well she/he knows this person. Please see the codes tab for possible response categories.

Universe
- 1988: Sample persons age 18+ in quarters 2 through 4 who have ever known someone with AIDS or the AIDS virus.
- 1989: Sample persons age 18+ who ever knew anyone with AIDS or the AIDS virus.
