Description
For sample persons age 18 and older who have ever personally known anyone with AIDS or the AIDS virus, AIDKNOPT reports how long it has been since she/he saw this person. Please see the codes tab for possible response categories.
This variable is part of the NHIS supplement on AIDS knowledge and attitudes. For related variables, please use the IPUMS NHIS search function and drop-down menus.
Universe
- 1988: Sample persons age 18+ in quarters 2 through 4 who have ever known someone with AIDS or the AIDS virus.
- 1989: Sample persons age 18+ who ever knew anyone with AIDS or the AIDS virus.
