Description

For sample persons age 18 and older, AIDHEARTP reports a time unit associated with the time since the person last saw, heard, or read something about AIDS. This variable should be used in combination with AIDHEARNO, a variable that reports a number associated with the time unit reported in AIDHEARTP, to create a variable that indicates the time since the person last saw, heard, or read something about AIDS in days, weeks, months, or years.

Comparability

Changes in survey design (e.g., quarters in which the supplement was collected) may affect raw frequencies, but do not affect comparability of the variable. As always, data users should use the prescribed IHIS weights.
