Description
For sample adults age 18 and older, AIDEDWK reports if the person received brochures about AIDS at work in the past month. Prior to 1993, persons were provided with a list of possible sources of AIDS information and asked to indicate any sources where they had received information from in the past month. Beginning in 1993, persons were specifically asked if they had received any information about AIDS from brochures distributed in the workplace.
Beginning in 1987, a series of questions were asked about HIV/AIDS to better understand people's knowledge of, perceived risk of, and information sources for learning more about HIV/AIDS.
Comparability
Response categories change over time, meaning some information sources or responses to whether or not the person received information about AIDS from brochures distributed in the workplace are not available in all samples. Researchers should review the survey text tab before comparing frequencies across years to ensure that response categories were available in the specified samples.
Universe
- 1990-1991: Sample persons age 18+.
- 1992: Half of sample persons age 18+.
- 1993: Half of sample persons age 18+ in quarters 3 and 4 (excluded from Y2K supplement).
- 1994-1995: Half of sample persons age 18+ (excluded from Y2K supplement).
